Le -fix wood Boxes

At le-fix we always made special  boxes for our products – with a very slim line between art installation and a very exclusive packaging – / 1 of the reasons behind our success at the Japanese market – / All our wood boxes was done in house (By Le-fix) – here are a small selection of what i am talking about

The-Box / at “Beams News” Japan

In 2003 Le-fix had the big honor to make an art exhibition at 1 of Japan´s highest ranking fashion stores (something we at the moments did not knew) But we know today. – Our collection was sold at the “Beams news” at the moment and therefore got the chance to do this crazy exhibition called “The Box” – it was done together with ALIS and SATORU. / The whole idea behind the exhibition was to send Japan a big box with our daily vibes from Copenhagen – So we stuffed the inside of the box with every feeling that we could come up with – to let the Japanese feel our lifestyle and background. / and a really beautiful thing about the box was that it after 3 month of traveling from Tokyo to Kyoto and Hiroshima ended up back in Copenhagen -where the Japanese viewers had written messagers on the outside of the box to us (a real nice way to get feedback)

The Box was build in Copenhagen and packed as tight as possible – and was send by plane to Tokyo – and the funny part was that when the Japanese send it back to Copenhagen -it was not packed down they just send the cube 2,44 X 2,44 X 2,44 M in 1 piece – also by plane – / I remember my eyes almost popped out when the box arrived.

The Old School le-fix shop 1999

Back in 1999 we opened our 1.st le-fix shop in Copenhagen (Nørrebro) – we did not know what we wanted to do with the shop somehow it was just to start up something new / We started out by doing some custom paintings on various clothing items – and step by step one thing took the other – and we where suddenly selling our products in shops like “Beams news” in Japan – we ended up selling in more than 40 shops all over Japan.  We kind of forgot what we where doing because our “get to getter project” ended up being a product thing mixed with art  -which for us where pretty new  - because we had doing art like since forever or at least since we where like 11 – 12 years. it was our passion for Graffiti – which we have been active part of since the early graffiti start in Denmark 1986 -and still are a part of.

“The Old le-fix Shop” started out by having crazy opening hours  which was “saturday 11- ?” -so I rember during World cup 2002 in Football – where we just went down opened up the shop and closed after 10 min to go home and watch Football. which was fair enough with our opening hours writen on the door – but we did not make much money that day.

Here is a look into that time I am talking about – it was the start of what we are still doing today – now just with new opening hours :)
